Good morning! Today is September 6, 2010 (Monday).

27 Aug 2007 - Loads of new stuff
Okay, not seriously, but there IS a new fanlisting (see navigation). Now, I know there is already a Craig Parker fanlisting out there and a Haldir one, but I figured that since I have a fan site, why not pull up a fanlisting for fun? I mean, it's just a simple list of fans... it's not like it's official or anything. It's slightly different, I guess, because it's a combined fanlisting for Haldir and Craig Parker. I dunno... I hope a few fans decide to get listed!
I've also just cleaned out my affiliates... those who didn't have my link on their pages or who's links were dead, I removed.
Some new photos of Craig doing 'The Pillowman' at Auckland Theatre Company.. check it out! I'll add these to the gallery when I have time to customize it...

... check it out! Elvenhome is one of the most beautiful sites I have ever come across, not to mention the brilliant information. :-)...

... and Elven Archer's brilliant portfolio site! Simply gorgeous... and she's a brilliant graphics maker. Have a look at her new site!
I also won two new awards from Forgotten Whispers Awards... hannon le, Caty!:

Annnnnnnnd, I found loads of new LotR Jokes from Nevrast, LotR Scrapbook and Bagginses.com I'll post a few of my favourites here...
All right, I'm finished now. *flees*

Random LotR Jokes
Annnnnnnnd, I found loads of new LotR Jokes from Nevrast, LotR Scrapbook and Bagginses.com I'll post a few of my favourites here...
How many times does an elf laugh at a joke?
Once, when he hears it.
How many times does a hobbit laugh at a joke?
Twice, once when he hears it, once when he gets it.
How many times does a dwarf laugh at a joke?
Three times. Once when he hears it, once when it's explained to him, and once when he gets it.
How many times does an Ent laugh at a joke?
Can't tell. Laughing takes too long in entish. (Nevrast)
Frodo and Sam are in Lothlorien at night, just about to go to sleep. Suddenly, Frodo turns to Sam and says, "Sam, look up. What do you see?"
Sam thinks for a moment, then turns to Frodo and says,
"Master, I see the stars in the heavens. They seem to be a never-ending map of heavens. They are infinite, shrouded in mystery, beautiful and amazing to behold, and far too complex for a young hobbit such as myself to fully comprehend."
And Frodo replies,"Sam, you fool, someone stole our tent!! (Bagginses)
An orc captain was marching his entire army to attack Rivendell, they were passing an old abandoned city when they heard a voice within the ancient city's walls: "One Elf is better than ten Orc soldiers!" The captain was enraged and immediately sent ten of his best troops over the walls while the remainder of the company waited outside. Then came the sound of a terrific fight going on, soon all was quiet. Then the voice spoke again: "One Elven soldier is better than a hundred Orc soldiers!" Well, the captain sent hundred of his best men over the walls. Soon came the sounds of fight and then silence. The voice spoke up again: "One Elven soldier is better than a thousand Orc soldiers!" The captain was furious. He immediately sent the remainder of his troops over the walls save only himself.
There came the sound of a fierce battle, and then silence followed by the sound of an elf laughing. Finally, one lone Orc stumbled back from the battle and collapsed at the captains feet. "Speak! What happened?" asked the captain. The soldier replied with his last breath. "It....was..a trap..there's...TWO...of...them..." (Bagginses)
In the city of Minis Tirith, the old blacksmith realized he was tired of working so hard and would soon retire. So he picked out a strong young man to become his apprentice. The old fellow was crabby and exacting. "Don't ask me a lot of questions," he told the boy. "Just do whatever I tell you to do."
One day the old blacksmith took an iron out of the forge and laid it on the anvil. "Get the hammer over there," he said. "When I nod my head, hit it real good and hard."
Minis Tirith is now looking for a new blacksmith. (LotR Scrapbook)

25 Aug 2007 - I'm on a layout roll... oh, and a new fanlisting!
All right, so now that I have Photoshop re-installed on my computer, I'm going nuts with it. It could be a good thing, but my apparently it's etching huge bags underneath my eyes. So, three layouts were made (for different sites, of course) in one day. One for this site that you're looking at, one for a fanlisting collective that has currently no content and one for an actual fanlisting. It's a fanlisting for the lovable Gildor Inglorion, but since it I haven't yet gotten a reply from TFL.org, I don't know if they will list it, so I won't put a link up just yet.
And as usual, thanks to everyone who commented!

24 Aug 2007 - New layout....
Another new layout.. I'm not too pleased with it; I still like the old one better, but it couldn't be viewed in Internet Explorer. This one's all right though, I guess. I apologize for the poor graphics anyhow.
There are still many broken links, I know... those pages are currently non-existent. I'll have them up in no more than a week. Or around that.
Errr... a few new affiliates:

^Beautiful fan site to Haldir and Legolas... it's got polls, graphics, and bunches of really interesting stuff... I got hooked for a little while. The avatars there are hilarious!

^The best Elijah Wood fan site I've ever seen... it has loads of content and an amazing layout (half Flash... brilliant).

^Sisílcal's amazing personal site... really creative layout and her graphics are just stunning.
So visit them all when you can! :-)

19 Aug 2007 - Update #32
My lack for a better title. Why bother going through all that trouble to come up with a title for a simple update? :-)
I've been cleaning out much of my empty and unused pages stuck in my folders lately, and I've also deleted a number of old affiliates that don't even have me on their link back pages any more. Turds. So for now, I've closed affiliation requests to free hosts and to forums/message boards (sorry to single you out, my dears), simply because most of the tactless affiliates that I cleaned out were these. Anyway, there are two new affiliates, neither of which are freely hosted or a message board! :-)

...Ellethwen's beautiful Lord of the Rings site!

...and a brilliant Emma Watson site in French... enchantée, Julie! ;-)

A few new pages, not too relevant to the site, so I won't link to them.
*ponder*

Thoughts on a new layout...
I'm also going to make a new layout straight away after my cousin re-installs Photoshop for me. This time I may code myself, since I am vowing to never use iframes again. They are hurtful *pout* This V2 layout - I realise - doesn't work because of something to do with the iframes. Hmmmmmm.... I'll do something really tacky for the next layout. I'll try to make it a bit more memorable and appealing than this one, and most definitely viewable in more than one browser.*ponder*
Fanlisting?
I'm also working on making a Gildor Inglorion fanlisting, seeing as TFL.org hasn't listed it as taken yet. Or a Haldir, Rúmil and Orophin one? Or maybe both? I haven't decided yet... I know I tried and failed to make one for the three brothers a year ago, because I hadn't a single clue what a PHP script was. Anyway, I'll give it a thought...- Vero
13 Aug 2007 - Newly Released Haldir Decipher Card
Decipher Inc. has recently released another new card set, with another new Haldir card in one of the lists! I've been aware of this for a while already, but that was before this site was started. I only remembered when I stumbled upon it again in my folders. Anyway, I made an avatar out of it when I first found out...

I've also created a whole new page just to display all the Decipher cards that Haldir appears in. I thought it might come in handy for Haldir fans that are looking for them (I used to.. like mad). Anyway, have a look at Haldir's Decipher cards! Unfortunately, no, I do not sell them.
And now for our actual new card!

Sitely
Also, we have two new affiliates!...

And that's all for updates... for now. I'm really busy right now, because my relatives from abroad and from Vancouver have just arrived, and we are obligated to entertain and host them. I'll still try to do my best with updating though! :-)

11 Aug 2007 - New pages, affiliates and a Craig promo pic
So FIRSTLY we have our lovely little man... we all know that he'll be performing in The Pillowman, don't we? *hears faint mutters in the background*
Well, a promotional photograph has recently been released... with none other than our brilliant Craig as the model!

As for the site, I have added three new pages:
Haldir Obsession Test
Craig Obsession Test
FAQ
The Craig one is still incomplete... I have no idea how people stalk Craig. As for FAQ, that's to answer all the annoying PM's/e-mail's that I get from silly people with silly questions.
There's also two new affiliates...

Please visit FRODOFAN's gorgeous Middle-earth site...

... and Nahid's stunning fan site to Legolas!
I'm considering making a splash page for this site... so that visitors will KNOW that it can only be viewed with Mozilla Firefox. I'm sick of amateur little coders telling me that this layout coding has errors. It doesn't! It's HTML and CSS validated. And Elfey doesn't miscode *pout* 'Sides, Mozilla Firefox is WAY better than Internet Explorer, as we all know full well...
And that'll be all :-P

08 Aug 2007 - New layout, new affy, and an Orc joke!
Behold! The new layout of HOL.com... Version 2! Unfortunately, I saw it yesterday on my sister's computer in Internet Explorer, and I was completely crestfallen. It looks horrendous outside of Firefox! So, to those who want to view this site properly... please download Mozilla Firefox. It really doesn't require much space and time at all
So firstly, everyone MUST read this Orc Joke... a friend e-mailed this to me, and I thought that any LotR fan would enjoy it. If you're a non-LotR-fan-friend of mine who is only on this is site because I forced you to be here, just ignore it... you probably won't get it!
*ahem*
Yeah, I found that joke to be absolutely hysterical. Many A-Uers shared my amusement

Anyway, here's all the new stuff that was recently added.. added today and yesterday, actually.
Pages
A lovely and quick bit about the name 'Haldir', its origin and Tolkien's alterations of it: Haldir's Name.

Ze Stephanie / Riniel's pretty new fanart site!:

Thanks for the flattering layout compliments, to all those who complimented it!

A company of Orcs had to transport some prisoners through a desert. They went on for miles and miles and ran out of food. The Orcs became very hungry... and then one had an idea.
"Let us cut off the prisoners' legs. We can carry them and we shall not be hungry anymore"
Everybody though it this a great idea so they cut off the prisoners legs and ate them. The company continued to march and they became hungry once more. So one of them then said, "Let us cut off the prisoners' arms and eat them too."
So they cut off the prisoners arms and ate them.
Eventually they arrived at the gates of Mordor and the watch Captain said, "Where are the prisoners you where supposed to deliver for interrogation?"
The Orcs handed over a bag of heads and said, "Well, they only need to talk don't they?"
Yeah, I found that joke to be absolutely hysterical. Many A-Uers shared my amusement

Yeah the title is pathetic, but hey... 14 new Haldir banners in the Haldir downloads section, as well as 2 new Haldir avatars:

Nothing new 'bout Craig... *whistles a flat tune*
Anyway, enjoy those graphics!

05 Aug 2007 - Craig News Article, A New Affiliate, Etc. ;)
A few new updates... not too many, because I honestly don't have enough time to do much. I'm making a new layout and getting Elfe to code it because of my sad and hopeless inability to code iframes. It looks decent I guess... it's lighter than this one, at any rate, and it's loads bigger and comfier. Ah, and Elven-Runes.com has now successfully been turned into a collective site for myself and my lovely sites. Including this one. I haven't a clue what to do with it otherwise.

Craig Parker
Stuff.co.nz article: Fans follow Parker to Middle Earth.
Apparently poor Craig has been swarmed by those gruesome and freakish "die-hard fans", all calling the Auckland Theatre Company and attempting to get private details of his life by proclaiming to be friends of his. They've been at it for six months! Poor Craig.. he does look really worn out. We're all die-hard fans, aren't we? But let's all show the dear some respect and give him his personal space. He respects his fans, and we really ought to show him that in return! I mean.. it's nice to dream though, isn't it? ;) Just don't get too carried away.

Haldir
How can there be updates on a fictional character who's author is long-dead? Well... let's just say he's arrived in Valinor at long last, and is searching solemnly for the Mellyrn that he loves so much.
Fixed Glitches
I've fixed the comment and news smilies for this CuteNews thing... and I realised that it only didn't work because I changed domain names, and forgot to update that in my options... it was THAT simple. *eyeroll*

01 Aug 2007 - Content Issue
And that issue would be... that every file I own, and my best programs are stuck into my external hard drive because my computer holds very little. Well a cord doesn't really seem to be functional right now, so I can't upload the new Haldeary icons that I've made. I ought to make some Craig ones too sometime, but there are really SO many pictures of him to choose from. That can wait. And when I can open my programs again, I'll be trying some new styles for graphics. I won't change the layout anytime soon though... I was told by many people that I should, because it's boring, but why should it be all fancy and colourful? It's not a graphics site... it's an informative site about a character. Now why does that need to be fancy?
